Design a Robot Final
by Rafid Khan
This is my Robot Rough and my Final. The first one is the rough meanwhile the second one is the final. To be honest, I think I did a-okay job with designing my robot. Here's my progress starting with the rough. For the rough, I was just putting random stuff together to create my robot and didn't know that all the parts have to be related. However, it took me a long time for it to finish the robot despite it being the rough. First thing I worked on is the head, which I used a kettlebell that you use to workout. Second I put the body which I used a IPhone 14 Pro Max (Space Black). Then I worked on the legs where I used a pair of jars representing the legs. Along with the legs, I put the feet or rather a shoe attached to it which is some Jordan's. When I moved on to working on the arms, I used contrapposto. I made my robot look like he is flexing his "robotic muscles" and here is how I did it. For the shoulder, I used a same book for both sides. Second, I used the same jar that I've used for the legs, the jar in the arms is supposed to be the bicep where the robot is flexing his "robotic muscles" at. Skittles candy is suppose to be the elbow where supposedly he closes him arm to show off the muscles, it is also a part of his forearm as well. The world cup trophy is his forearm for the most part and the air pod pro is his hand. In the rough, I did pretty bad and didn't know what I was doing. However I made a comeback in the Robot Final. I decided to create a Robot based on food and actually changed the entire part of the robot. I started the head with a Oreo cookie and used Dr Pepper soda as the body. I then worked on the right arm where the cheeseburger is the shoulder. The vanilla donut is the bicep and I made it big to show off the muscle. Once again the skittle is the elbow and then the burrito is the forearm. Lastly, the pizza is the hand. Then in the left arm, I used chicken sandwich as the body, chocolate donut as the bicep, Skittle as the elbow, Taco as the forearm and polar pizza as the hand. As you can see I made an opposition between the robot's left and right arms. Such as chicken sandwich is the opposite of cheeseburger, polar pizza is the opposite of cheese pizza, chocolate donuts is the opposite of vanilla donuts, and burritos is the opposite of taco. Next I worked on the legs, I have thought of putting Doritos chip bag as the leg but then I realized it wouldn’t fit well. But then I was suggested to use Jarritos bottle as the leg and I took that suggestion and used it which turned out to be pretty good. However I used two different flavors like for the left leg I did a yellow flavor and the right leg I used a orange flavor. For the left leg, I used jarritos as the leg, hotdog as the knee, French fries as the calf and chips as the feet. For the right leg, i did the same thing but it is the opposite of the left leg. Like I used a different flavors from the jarritos from the left leg, the hot dog remains the same but I used Wendy’s French fries for the right leg and used McDonald’s French fries as the left leg. Lastly, I used Lay’s Honey BBQ chips for the right leg and Lay’s BBQ chips for the left leg. Once I was completely done with my robot, I added a background which is a fantasy junk land and I think it works as my robot is made out of junk food and putting it in a junk food land would fit in and make sense. So basically, the junk food robot in the junk food land is a junk yard for him. After adding the background, I added the shadow for my robot. I took some difficulty to make it but I managed to do and try to accurately make it look realistic/3D. From this assignment, I learned how to used a magneto lasso tool and I also learn how to make a shadow as well as developing my creativity while making the robot. Overall, I would rate my robot design a solid 7.5/10.
