Branded Print Ad: final by Rafid Khan
This is my Final Brand ad, I suppose it came out decent than I've expected. In my opinion, it doesn't look bad but it may have been better if I may realize and took my consideration on working on the letters. Hence, here's my process on how I did it. Well, first I did it on Illustrator without realizing that I was suppose to do it on InDesign so I transferred my work from Illustrator to InDesign. I first created 8.5 x 11 for the pages and then I used the pen tool to outline the entire page to fill in the color. So at first, I used black color for my page but then when I added my logo into the poster, it didn't look great as my logo's box is black so it makes the piece of my logo invisible and blend it with the color pages. So I changed the page color into matte black which is a light black color. Finally my whole logo is visible. So I aligned my logo into the bottom right corner because I feel like that's how a logo should be placed. I think a logo should be near either corner of an ad poster because of how I think placing the logo in the center or something might steal the big idea and the attention of the rest of the poster. Afterwards, I created the slogan, where I made it similar or nearly the same as my logo. For example, I typed STAY LUCID and used the same font as LUCID from my logo. I then place "STAY LUCID" on the top of the poster. By the way, I used Script MT Bold for it and used cream color. Afterwards I used Franklin Gothic Demi Cond fonts to type KEEP IT CUSTOM and then I placed a red rectangular box behind KEEP IT CUSTOM. I then made the type white. I used that same technique just like I did it with CUSTOM from my logo where I put CUSTOM behind the red rectangular. I then put KEEP IT CUSTOM below STAY LUCID. I put the slogan on the top and big in order to make it visible. If you put the slogans on the middle or top, it create an attention seeking for consumers and possibly making them be convince to buy the product. Next I drew the sneaker, so I opened a new file, download Jordan 1 sneaker and drew it out using the pen tool. I then cream color for the drawing, I copy/paste it into the ad poster file. I happened to put it in the middle because I want the consumer to know the image and what's my brand about. Afterwards, I wrote out some random address that I've came up with but surprisingly, that address is an actual address. Anyways, I typed the address using Franklin Gothic Cond and put it like at the bottom left. Afterwards, I decided to be creative by using the placeholder text to fill the entire page with text. I just constantly paste LUCID CUSTOM : STAY LUCID KEEP IT CUSTOM to fill up the entire page with text with using a dark red color. Also, I put behind all of my work. I thought I was done but then I realized I need 2-3 photography. I picked a custom shoe and paint on my ad poster. Since I had little space left, I put it next to my sneaker drawing. I think the photography may have kind of ruined my drawing but it is what it is and it's required. Overall, i would personally rate it as 8/10 I guess.
